As you may or may not have heard, Florida Congresswoman Corrine Brown was shouted down, silenced, and
censured last week. She was asking for UN monitors in the coming elections and she called the 2000 elections a
"coup d'etat". Her comments were stricken from the Congressional Record and she wasn't allowed to speak for the remainder of the day.
I just submitted this letter to the editor to my local rag in Reno. Send it or one like it to your paper or to your congressperson.

I am outraged that the House Republicans censured Congresswoman Corrine Brown (D-FL). She was shouted at, silenced, and her comments were struck from the Congressional Record.
What incredible contempt Rep. Gibbons and his fellow Republicans have for free speech and democracy!
Brown had the nerve to request U.N. monitors for the upcoming elections. Some of her constituents were illegally deprived of their votes in 2000 because they were erroneously included on a 'felons' list.
If members of Congress are not allowed to express themselves, how are we to have any faith that our own First Amendment rights will be respected and protected?
Beatrice Hall once paraphrased Voltaire: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
Unfortunately, the House Republicans are not made of such moral fiber.
Meanwhile, CNN exposed Florida Governor Jeb Bush's continuing fraud. The felon list for this year again erroneously had blacks that it shouldn't have (blacks tend to vote Democrat). But amazingly, due to "computer error", it was missing Hispanic felons (Hispanics tend to vote Republican).
